Welcome!

Welcome to Hunger Games blog from the FMRHS CAT program! We will be reading the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. As we read, we will be having a continuous discussion on this blog about what takes place in the book and how these events make us react and feel. I am very excited to see what all of your responses are and look forward to having some great discussions about the very thought provoking events in the book. To make this even better, once we have read the book, we will have the opportunity to see the Hunger Games movie that is coming out at the end of March. Bring on the Games!!

FMRHS CAT

Welcome! The FMRHS CAT program is a place where students are able to participate in regular education classes, but in a setting that is smaller and offers additional support to the students than is usually available in a typical classroom. The students are held accountable for three key components: attendance, work ethic, and behavior. Each week the students need to fulfill these requirements to earn additional privileges within the classroom. In the classroom there are three adults; Ms. Holley, Ms. Halley-Streeter and Ms. Labounty. There are currently 17 students from grades 9-12.
This whole blog came about because Ms. Holley had read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, outside of school and fell in love with it! She began reading it with a student in her class, who quickly became equally obsessed and his reaction triggered all of the other students to want to read it. Once they found out the movie was coming out, there was no question... we had to read the book and then as a reward for the three requirements mentioned above, we would be able to go see the movie as a class. I am very excited to see their reactions to this very intense and thought provoking story.
